I just figured you guys had been staring at the rather pimp chef for too long and might be confusing him with myself somehow. So here’s a picture showing my triumphant return to the 16mm earhole dimensions, I can’t remember the last time I had the actual size plugs in. Happily I have now made it back and am on track for 20mm by my birthday. Though admittedly thats 4mm in 3months.. which I’m aware is naughty and fast but heck I’m feeling flexible. It would be even better if I was at 23mm but thats just truly ridic. 

Now I don’t want you to feel that Im being unproductive because as always I have way to much on my plate. Instead I’m sparing you from the overly exciting news regarding my semiotic analysis essay I’m writing.

As part of the new group briefing that has been laid out for us, we have set up a progress blog, this will be one part of our multiple working methods. Alongside a variety AV services which will help with inter person communication over the following weeks. It appears to be going fairly well and I’m really happy with the group I’m a part of and be greatly looking forward to the outcome. Cross over to this blog for the latest activities. I will post here but I think my output is going to rapidly drop so I can stay happily focused on the project at hand.

I’ve only been viewing the site for about 12 months and I feel that the best is yet to come. Every couple of months they release an exclusive print product that will undoubtedly become valuable when they have been raised to their deserved deity level. Keep it coming Wooster!

Though as any vintage filmers will tell you a big solid analogue camera allows for slow stable pans. Well that’s what a film student said to me in Yeovil

I have uploaded for the pleasure of you all this Preloader asset. This can in theory be tacked onto the front of your .fla, though I kinda remember issues of this before. It may be best to copy everything into the preloader.fla, underneath the ’start’ label. [Check frame rate]

It HAS to go in the same directory as the Preloader.as which contains all the maths you would need to get it ticking along. You can modify the animation to anything you want through the progress_mc, though bear in mind that it should be 100frames in length.

PS. It’s not my asset I found it a couple of years ago, so if you’re the original author don’t get arsey. I’d give credit but I just can’t remember.

So among my regular reads there has been an exciting redesign. Although nothing crazy flash based, after 18 months using a fairly non sensical system it’s great to see logic and reason return. A bit like when your buddy finally gives up the insane festival hat they’ve been wearing since June.

Most impressive of all was the thickbox system being used to run a contact script. It just seems to carry a great logic as any messages sent from a website tend to be short little notes/memo/queries. So why have a whole page dedicated to it? No reason is the flamboyant response.
I trawled through AJAX, php scripts and a wide variety of box options before finally arriving at the solution, though at the moment it invalidates the site XHTML.
